Product description
Blair Athol began life in 1798 as the Aldour Distillery (named after the nearby Allt Dour River) and has been operating at its current location since 1825.
Its headquarters is the picturesque Victorian town of Pitlochry in the central Highlands, and its nearest neighbour is the iconic Edradour distillery. In 1933, the plant became the property of Arthur Bell & Sons, and since then the lion's share of production has been "consumed" by Bell's blends. The whisky presented here, distilled in June 1997, spent 23 years in a sherry butt no. HL 18201 and was bottled by Hunter Laing & Co. in the popular Old Malt Cask series in February 2021. The edition consisted of 297 bottles. Whiskies from the Hunter Laing & Co. offer are bottled with natural colour and without chill filtration.
