Product description
Legend has it that Dalmore is connected to the history of the Mackenzie clan, which has been associated with the Dalmore distillery in the Scottish Highlands for centuries. According to the story, in 1263, the clan's ancestor, Colin of Kintail, saved the Scottish king Alexander III from an angry stag. In gratitude, the king granted the Mackenzie family a coat of arms, which features an image of a twelve-pointed stag with the motto: "Luceo Non Uro", which means: it shines not burns. Since then, every bottle of Dalmore malt whisky, in memory of the ancestor's courageous deed, is decorated with the emblem of a stag's head with twelve-pointed antlers.
Dalmore 12 year old is a marriage of distillates aged in bourbon barrels (80%) and sherry casks (20%). The Dalmore Distillery was built in 1839 by Alexander Matheson and is currently owned by Whyte & Mackay, whose assets were acquired in 2014 by Filipino brandy producer Emperador Inc.
