Product description
I don't think anyone today questions Glenmorangie's leading role in the field of whisky finishing. In 1994, the 12-year-old Port Wood Finish became a permanent part of the distillery's sales offer, and other finishes soon followed – Sherry, Madeira and Burgundy.
At the same time, the company offered limited editions delivered in more unconventional casks. Glenmorangie Côte de Beaune Wood Finish is a whisky that, after spending 10 years in traditional oak casks, was placed for an additional 2 years in red Burgundy Pemier Cru casks. In 2003, 3,000 bottles of whisky with an alcohol content of 46% were bottled.
Aroma: elegant and floral, violets, lavender, delicate wine tones, honey, apricots, plums, raspberries, a trace of cocoa and a light herbal note.
Palate: Initial sweetness is soon balanced by notes of spice, blackberries, strawberries, rosehip jam, honey, vanilla, ginger, licorice and a bit of oak.
Finish : quite long and pleasantly balanced, with distinct spicy notes in the finale.
