Brora Distillery
United Distillers, a previous incarnation of Diageo, introduced the Rare Malts range in 1995, following the success of Classic Malts and Flora & Fauna .
It consisted of rare, carefully selected whiskies from the stock of the group's distilleries, always bottled at natural strength and without chill filtration. In 1998, Clynelish made its third appearance at Rare Malts . The whisky was from 1974, when the new Clynelish distillery, built in 1967, operated alongside the original, known as Brora, and was bottled in May 1998, after 23 years of maturation, mainly in bourbon casks.

Palate: slightly oily, grassy and waxy, lemon and lime, seaweed salad, licorice, traces of cinnamon and white pepper and a subdued fruity note.
Finish: long and spicy, salt, pepper, ginger, some oak and minimal fruit.
