Product description
Bottle no.0112
A spectacular release from Clynelish, part of the Rare Malts collector's series , the last editions of which were released in 2005. All the whiskies in the series were bottled at their original ABV and without chill filtration.
The whisky on display here, distilled in 1972, five years after the new Clynelish Distillery was built, was aged for 24 years, almost exclusively in bourbon casks. This is a rather unusual Clynelish, differing from other official editions in its stronger fruit notes and almost devoid of the maritime element that is characteristic of this whisky.
Nose : rich, fruity, apples, grapes, lemon peel, beeswax, vanilla, oak and light notes of peat smoke.
Taste: powerful, slightly oily, lots of oak, toffee, vanilla, beeswax, mirabelle plums, raisins, white pepper and light herbal notes.
Finish : very long and warming with notes of caramel, roasted nuts, herbs and oak.
