In 2006, Edradour Distillery revived the brand with Ballechin #1, which it presented in The Discovery Series . It was a young whisky with a high concentration of phenolic compounds, aged exclusively in first-fill Burgundy casks. In 2014, Ballechin 10 Year Old became Edradour's core offering. This smoky whisky is a blend of distillates aged in bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks.
Aroma: initially hospital, soon tobacco notes, traces of leather and in the background vanilla and a pinch of spices.
Palate: sherry infused with peat smoke, dark chocolate, dried fruit, traces of mouthwash.
