Glendronach 33 years old debuted in 2005. It was a whisky distilled when the distillery was owned by William Teacher & Sons and aged exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks.
To this day, many connoisseurs consider this edition to be the distillery's highest achievement. The 33-year-old GlenDronach returned to the market in 2009 and immediately won a gold medal at the annual International Wine & Spirits Competition . Jim Murray, author of the annually reissued "Whisky Bible", awarded it 95 points on a 100-point scale.
Nose : incredibly rich and complex, bluish notes of old sherry, cherries, dates, prunes, orange peel, cinnamon, cardamom, dark chocolate, coffee beans and oak.
Palate: elegant and deep, cinnamon, oranges, dates, figs, chocolate-coated raisins, candied ginger, marzipan, traces of leather and oak.
Finish : infinitely long, cinnamon, nutmeg, almonds, orange peel, dark chocolate and some tannins.
