Product description
The Glenlochy Distillery, built in the late 19th century, was based in Fort William in the western Highlands. This small operation, equipped with a single pair of stills, produced just under a million litres of distillate per year.
In 1953 Glenlochy became part of DCL and despite modernisation work carried out by the group in the 1970s, it ceased operation in 1983. Glenlochy editions have always been rare, the one presented here is a proposal from Duncan Taylor in June 2005 in the Rare Auld series. The whisky comes from cask no. 2451 filled in August 1980 and was bottled without chill filtration, at a natural alcohol content of 61.2%. The edition consisted of 251 bottles.
