Product description
The Ballechin brand is a homage to the distillery operating in the neighborhood of Edradour Distillery and closed in 1927.
Soon after Andrew Symington acquired Edradour in 2002 he started distilling peated whisky (50ppm phenols in malt), which he launched in 2006 as Ballechin single malt. Today Ballechin whisky is part of the Edradour core range and is being supplemented with limited releases on annual basis. Ballechin 15 years old cask strength was introduced in 2021, composed of whiskies aged in first fill bourbon barrels and second fill Oloroso sherry casks. Here we have the first release from 2022 bottled at 58.9% abv. Only 3520 bottles were produced.
