Product description
Glengoyne is a small distillery with a production capacity of just over one million litres of alcohol per year.
Since 2003, it has been owned by Ian Macleod Distillers, which has increased sales of its single malt by 150% in 10 years. Here we present an extraordinary edition of Glengoyne from 2000 prepared by the previous owners, The Edrington Group. The whiskies used in this blend were aged for at least 30 years in first-fill and refill sherry casks. The drink was bottled in cask strength (51.3% abv), and an additional attraction is the presentation - the bottle is placed in a padlocked box made of glass and metal, and resembling a so-called spirit safe (which allows the distiller to control the distillate flowing from the still).
Nose: strong notes of sherry, Christmas cake, marzipan, caramel, chocolate-coated raisins, oranges, coffee beans, ginger, pepper and a hint of leather.
Palate: very rich, raisins, dried plums and cherries, oranges, dark chocolate, toffee, hazelnuts, candied ginger, nutmeg, espresso, traces of leather and oak.
Finish: long, with notes of Christmas baking, dried fruit, black coffee and oak.
