Product description
In the summer of 2021, Amrut Distillers began releasing the “Single Malts of India” series, consisting of single malts from small Indian distilleries.
Amrut buys fresh distillate, matures it in their own warehouses, then processes and bottles it. The name of the first edition of the series, Neidhal, refers to old Tamil texts, where Mother Earth is divided into five regions called “tinais”. The Neidhal region consists of all the oceans and coastal lands. Amrut does not disclose which distillery the whisky came from, we do know that it was distilled from 100% local, 6-row barley malted with Scottish peat at a distillery on the coast (Neidhal). The whisky was bottled at 46% abv, and 12,000 bottles were released.
