Product description
Armorik single malt is produced by Distillerie Warengehem based in Lannion, Brittany.
It was founded in the early 20th century by Leon Warengehem, but the first attempts at whisky production were made by his grandson Paul-Henri Warengehem in cooperation with Yves Leizour in the late 1980s. A few years later, Armorik Single Malt debuted. Currently, the plant belongs to the Leizour family and, equipped with one pair of stills, produces 120,000 liters of distillate per year using only locally grown barley. The Armorik Double Maturation presented here joined the offer in 2009. This whisky is matured in barrels made of local Breton oak for at least three years, and finished in Oloroso sherry barrels.
Aroma : fruity with a delicate note of sherry, honey, caramel, vanilla, sultanas, cherries, orange peel, cappuccino and buttery croissants.
Palate: sweet breakfast cereals, honey, vanilla, maple syrup, plums, milk chocolate, raisins, cinnamon, ginger and a hint of hay.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, salted caramel, milk chocolate, pepper and oak.
