Product description
Although only established in 2002, Teerenpeli Distillery is the oldest Finnish whisky producer.
It is owned by a company that owns several restaurants around the country and a brewery, and the distillery itself is located in a restaurant building in the city of Lahti. The original equipment included a pair of small stills capable of distilling about 30 thousand liters of alcohol per year, in October 2015 three more stills were installed, increasing the distillation capacity more than fourfold. Teerenpeli 8 years old is the first relatively widely available Finnish single malt. The whisky was composed of distillates aged in bourbon barrels (60%) and second-fill sherry barrels (40%).
