Product description

Glenora Distillery, producer of Canada's first single malt, was built between 1986 and 1990.

The plant is located in Glenville in the province of Nova Scotia and equipped with two small stills can produce about 350 thousand liters of distillate per year. The first years of Glenora's history are a series of problems, both financial and production (allegedly the first batches of distillate were of poor quality). The turning point came in 1993, when the plant was taken over by a businessman of Scottish origin, Lauchie MacLean, and he employed the former manager of Glen Ord Distillery as the master distiller. The local single malt debuted in 2000 in the 8-year-old version, which was soon replaced by the 10-year-old version, which is still the core of the commercial offer.

Aroma: mild, malty and floral, vanilla, milk fudge, apples, pears, eucalyptus drops, traces of licorice and hay.

Palate : sweet, toffee, vanilla, sweet breakfast cereal, candied orange peel, baked apples, a pinch of ginger and oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of sweet cereal, vanilla, toffee, a pinch of spice and oak.
