Product description
Auchentoshan Distillery is situated between the Kilpatrick Hills and the River Clyde. It is the only Scottish distillery where every single drop of spirit is distilled three times.
The spirit’s middle cut is very narrow – the collection starts at 82% abv and stops at 80%. Auchentoshan 21 years old is the oldest expression in the distillery’s core range. The whisky is aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Back in the 1990s jurors of the International Wine and Spirit Competition voted Auchentoshan 21 “the Ultimate Lowland Malt” for several consecutive years.
Nose: rich complex, vanilla, juicy gooseberries, orange zest, dates, cedar wrap and oak.
Palate: nice flavor development, honey, oak, chocolate, green apples and a hint of spice.
Finish: long and rounded, vanilla, apricots, trial mix, touch of cedar.
