Penderyn Welsh Whiskey Celt / 41% (Wales) / 0.7l
- Penderyn whisky has been produced by the Welsh Whisky Company since 2000.
Product description
Penderyn single malt has been produced by the Welsh Whisky Company since 2000. It debuted four years later and achieved unprecedented success.
In 2013-2014, the plant underwent a costly expansion, which cost £1 million and increased its production capacity from 90 to 300 thousand liters of distillate per year. Penderyn Celt is a 2015 proposal, a continuation of the Legend and Myth editions. All three whiskies have a similar presentation, their labels, like the Welsh flag, are decorated with a red dragon, which emphasizes the national identity. The whiskies used in this edition were aged in bourbon barrels and finished in barrels of smoked and peated distillates. The drink is bottled without chill filtration, at 41% alcohol.
Producer's tasting note:
A delicate whiff of peat smoke, a walk on a pebbly beach in the morning and a toast with marmalade. A fresh and expressive whisky, each sip of which brings joy and relief. Initially sweet in taste, soon revealing smoky and to a lesser extent hospital notes. Fresh finish with subtle bitterness.
