Product description
The Owl Distillery is the first Belgian producer of single malt whisky. The distillery was founded by Etienne Bouillon, Christian Polis and Pierre Roberti in 2004, and the Belgian Owl brand was launched in October 2007.
The company uses locally grown two-row spring barley and ages its whisky in first fill ex-bourbon barrels sourced from Heaven Hill Distillers in Kentucky, usually for 36 months. In the spring of 2013 The Owl Distillery purchased two stills, which had been previously used at Caperdonich Distillery that ceased production in 2002. “New” stills increased the distillery capacity from 20 to 50 000 liters of spirit per annum.
