The Cooper’s Choice is the range of single malt and single grain whiskies bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Company (founded by Brian Crook in 1992).
The range was launched the following year and is the company homage to coopers and their important role in the Scotch whisky industry. Invergordon 33 years old, distilled November 1987, was aged in ex-bourbon barrel # 88794. Bottled at natural strength of 46.5% abv, of natural color and without chill-filtration in 2021 with an outrun of 276 bottles. Invergordon is the only Scottish distillery located in Highlands. It is owned by Whyte & Mackay and equipped with four column stills can produce over 40 million liters of spirit annually.
Nose: buttered toast, vanilla, butterscotch, honeyed cereals, brown sugar, dash of candied ginger, traces of potpourri, hay and oak.
Palate: smooth, vanilla, crème brûlée, pralines, honey, coconut biscuits, sugared peanuts, dash of white pepper, dried herbs and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, hard candy, coconut flakes, dash of cinnamon and oak.
