Black Jack Pure Malt, 6 years old /No packaging/ 40% / 0.75l

Black Jack is a somewhat mysterious brand owned by Angus MacDonald & Co. The pure malt whisky presented here ( blended malt by today's standards ) debuted in the late 1970s.

We don't know much about its formula, other than the fact that the whiskies used come from the Highlands (which then also included Speyside) and were aged for at least 6 years. The label, however, is a work of art.  

Aroma : mild with notes of malt and fruit, in the background oak and a trace of peat smoke.

Taste : light and delicate, vanilla, breakfast cereals, apricots, a bit of hay and peat smoke.

Finish : short and fresh, citrus, peat and a blade of dry grass.
