Product description
Inverleven Distillery was established in 1938 on the site of the Dumbarton distillery complex, at that time Scotland's largest grain distillery.
Dumbarton was owned by George Ballantine & Sons, a subsidiary of Hiram Walker & Sons. The Inverleven distillery, equipped with traditional stills and Lomond stills, had one task – to produce malt spirit for the Ballantine's brand. The last distillation at Inverleven took place in 1991 and today its whisky is almost impossible to find. The Duncan Taylor offering from September 2004 in the Rare Auld series is the contents of cask no. 3098 filled in September 1977. The whisky was bottled without chill filtration, with a natural alcohol content of 56.4%, and the edition consisted of 167 bottles.
