Product description
St. Magdalene, the now legendary Lowlands distillery, operated in the town of Linlithgow from 1795 to 1983.
By the standards of the time, it was a large plant, equipped with 5 stills, producing around 1.3 million liters of alcohol per year. The 1980s brought a major crisis on the whisky market, and excessive supplies and lack of demand caused the closure of over 30 distilleries, including St. Magdalene. Currently, there are residential buildings on its property. The whisky presented here, distilled over half a century ago, is an example of Lowlander, the taste of which many of us have not had the opportunity to experience. The whisky spent almost three decades in oak barrels and was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 1995 in the popular Connoisseurs Choice series.
