In September 2019, Auchentoshan Distillery presented a new offer for the Travel Retail chain.

Gone are the Springwood and Heartwood, replaced by the American Oak Reserve and Dark Oak editions, while the premium version, Auchentoshan Blood Oak, remains. The Auchentoshan Dark Oak presented here was aged in Oloroso sherry, Pedro Ximénez sherry and bourbon casks and bottled without an age statement at 43%. The graphic design of the packaging has also changed, emphasizing the industrial climate of Glasgow (the distillery buildings are located between the Kilpatrick Hills and the River Clyde, on the outskirts of Glasgow).

Nose: fruity with a hint of nuttiness, apples, oranges, strawberry jam, vanilla, crème brûlée, toffee, coconut flakes, sultanas, lemongrass and oak.

Taste : sweet with a subtle spiciness, milk chocolate, raisins, sultanas, sugared nuts, candied orange peel, a pinch of pepper and nutmeg.

Finish: medium long, with notes of candied fruit, vanilla, honey, caramel and a hint of spices.
