Product description
The Inverleven Distillery was built in 1938 on the site of the Dumbarton distillery complex, near Glasgow.
Dumbarton, at the time Scotland’s largest grain distillery, was owned by Hiram Walker & Sons and managed by George Ballantine & Sons. Inverleven, equipped with traditional pot stills and Lomond stills, had one mission – to produce malt spirit for the Ballantine’s brand. The last distillation at Inverleven took place in 1991. This whisky, distilled the previous year, spent nearly three decades in a refill bourbon cask (no. 500710). Bottled on 20th August 2020 at cask strength (53.1% abv) by Gordon & MacPhail in their popular ‘Connoisseurs Choice’ series in an edition of just 71 bottles. (Manufacturer’s note.)
