Auchentoshan 13-year (D.2007, B.2021) Artist Collective # 5.0 / 48% / 0.7l
- ‘Artist Collective’ was introduced in 2017 by the Parisian retailer La Maison du Whisky as a sub-range to the prestigious ‘Artist’ range.
Product description
The “Artist Collective” series debuted in 2017 in the Parisian La Maison du Whisky range and is a complement to the prestigious “Artist” line.
While the latter is a collection of carefully selected single cask editions, the “Artist Collective” is in the small batch (or rather very small batch) category. Each edition catches the eye with a label featuring a work by a contemporary artist. The Auchentoshan 2007 presented here is part of the fifth “Artist Collective” series, released in autumn 2021. This 13-year-old whisky was finished in a first-fill sherry butt and bottled at 48% abv. The graphic design uses the work “Aquarelle” by the French painter Théo Guignard.
Aroma: fruity, slightly waxy, apricots, oranges, cherries, blackcurrants, toffee, mocha, honey, notes of dried porcini mushrooms, hazelnuts and pipe tobacco.
Palate: well-balanced, dried plums, apricots and figs, roasted chestnuts, honey, dark chocolate, licorice, a drop of vinaigrette and sherry-soaked oak.
Finish : fairly long, with notes of dark chocolate, toffee, cinnamon, ginger, roasted nuts and sherry-soaked oak.
