Product description
Classic was part of Glenfiddich's retail offering from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s. The whisky was mainly available in duty-free chain stores in the Far East and Japan.
Like Special Old Reserve Classic, it was bottled without an age statement, although the vast majority of the whiskies were aged for around 10 years. They came from refill bourbon casks, with a small percentage of sherry casks. Glenfiddich Classic disappeared from the range in the 1990s when the company decided to increase its marketing budget for Special Old Reserve. It is now a collector's whisky, increasingly hard to find.
Aroma : delicate, malty, pears, apples, delicate sherry tones, vanilla, oak and fading traces of peat smoke.
Taste: mild, all elements closely combined, barley malt, vanilla, honey, pears, plums and a distant note of peat smoke.
Finish : medium long, mild, a combination of fruity sweetness and oak bitterness.
