Product description
Aberlour, based in Speyside, is one of Scotland’s most picturesque distilleries. Its single malt sells 4 million bottles a year, and is most successful in France.
The whisky presented here is a remembrance of Campbell Distillers, the owner of the plant from 1945 to 1974. Distilled in 1970, when the distillery was equipped with one pair of stills (an additional pair was installed in 1973), and most of the production was "consumed" by Clan Campbell blends. The whisky spent over two decades in sherry casks, and was bottled in 1991 in an edition limited to 8,000 bottles. Aberlour Glenlivet 1970 is considered one of the best releases from this distillery and today has great collector's value.
