- A cask strength version of the Heritage malt, introduced in 2010 for the French market.
Product description
Glenfarclas Heritage debuted on the French market in 2010 in a 40% abv and cask strength version.
This edition is a tribute to six generations of Grants and their contribution to the success of the Glenfarclas brand. The cask strength version presented here is bottled at 60% abv, similar to the highly regarded 105. The main difference between the whiskies is the selection of casks. While Glenfarclas 105 is made from distillates aged exclusively in sherry casks, the Heritage formula also includes distillates from refill bourbon casks.
Aroma: quite strong, slightly spirit-like, freshly brewed coffee, gingerbread, cinnamon, caramel, dried plums and sherry barrel.
Palate: rich, dried plums and apricots, candied ginger, pepper, oak, chili peppers and a delicate note of peat.
Finish: medium long, warming and spicy, with a light note of dried fruit.
