Product description
Glenfarclas Distillery is a pioneer in bottling cask strength whisky.
The first edition of this type, soon to be called "105", hit the market in 1968. The number 105 refers to the old British system of measuring ethanol content in alcoholic beverages, assuming 1 proof = 7/4 abv. To determine the percentage, the Proof number had to be multiplied by 4 and then divided by 7 (105 x 4 = 420; 420 : 7 = 60). Glenfarclas 105 is bottled without an age statement, rumor has it that it is blended from distillates aged in sherry casks for an average of 8 years.
