Product description
Glenfarclas Distillery is located in Speyside, close to the small town of Ballindalloch. The Grant family has owned it since 1865. Only Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown remains longer in hands of one family (the Mitchells since 1837).
Glenfarclas is equipped with the largest stills in Speyside (29 600 liters wash stills and 25 000 liters spirit stills) and produces roughly 3.4 million liters of spirit per annum. The 17 years old expression is bottled in limited quantities primarily for the North American, Japanese and Travel Retail markets.
Nose: complex, raisins, prunes, candied orange peel, butterscotch, cinnamon, nutmeg, dried apples and peat smoke.
Palate: big with a great balance, distinctive sherry notes, creamy maltiness, honey, raisins, figs, orange zest, dried apples and pears, hints of oak and peat.
Finish: long and smooth, initially with plenty of dried fruit and honey, soon turning spicy and oaky.
