Product description
Glenturret began life in 1775 as the Hosh Distillery, but records show that whisky had been produced on the property for 60 years before that.
By today's standards, this is an extraordinary distillery, probably the only one where the mash is constantly stirred with a wooden paddle. Currently, Glenturret produces 170,000 litres of alcohol per year, using 50% of its potential. The local whisky is one of the main ingredients of the Famous Grouse blend and its supply in the single malt version remains minimal. The Scotia Royale proposal is a 34-year-old whisky distilled in 1977, the contents of a single cask bottled in the cask strength version (48.4% abv). Its content translated into just 245 bottles. Scotia Royale is a series of whiskies shrouded in mystery from the Loch Lomond Group portfolio.
