Product description
The Strathmill Distillery was built in 1891 and for the first four years used the name Glenisla-Glenlivet Distillery.
Currently, the distillery belongs to Diageo and, equipped with two pairs of stills, can produce over 2.5 million liters of distillate per year, the vast majority of which goes to Diageo's blends, mainly J&B. The Strathmill presented here, distilled on July 2, 2009, spent over 12 years in first-fill hogshead casks (no. 805070 + 805096), and was bottled at 43% abv by Signatory Vintage Whisky Company on August 3, 2021.
Aroma : barley malt, apples and pears, yeast cake, nougat, buttered popcorn, vanilla, notes of cinnamon and toasted oak.
Palate: sweet breakfast cereal, vanilla, milk fudge, sugared nuts, buttered croissant, pears, lemongrass and a hint of licorice.
Finish: medium long, with notes of breakfast cereal, vanilla, sweet bread, lemon peel, cinnamon and oak.
