Product description
Virginia Black whiskey, the creation of alcoholic beverage developer Brent Hocking and popular rapper Drake, made its market debut in 2016.
Hocking, a former banker, has made his biggest success to date with DeLeón tequila, which was acquired by Diageo and Sean “Diddy” Combs in 2013. Virginia Black is a blend of three bourbons, two, three and four years old, distilled from high-rye formulas at MGP Indiana and “finished for a decadent profile” (interestingly, the whiskey is not described by the producer as bourbon). The drink is presented in a unique 1920s Art Deco bottle.
Nose : buttered popcorn, maple syrup, vanilla, caramel, marasca cherries, rose water, peaches, cinnamon, notes of tobacco and oak.
Palate: caramel, vanilla pudding, cherries, plums, raisins, cinnamon, cloves, white pepper, notes of tobacco and leather.
Finish: medium long, with notes of caramel, vanilla, praline, cinnamon, pepper and a distant whiff of sweet smoke.
