Product description
Corsair Artisan Distillery was founded in 2008 by two Nashville residents, Derek Bell and Andrew Webber.
Because Tennessee law prohibited such activity, Bowling Green in neighboring Kentucky was chosen. (A sister distillery and brewery opened in Nashville two years later after the law changed.) Corsair experiments a lot, and so far the most popular is their Triple Smoke Single Malt. The Ryemaggedon presented here is also the result of an experimental formula – 80% malted rye and 20% roasted rye (chocolate rye). This whiskey is an aged version of the award-winning Wry Moon Rye White Whiskey, spent about a year in 15-gallon charred oak barrels.
Nose : spicy notes of rye bread, cocoa powder, caramel, fruit candy and buttered toast.
Taste: quite spicy, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, burnt slice of rye bread, dark chocolate and a distant note of smoke.
Finish : medium long, with notes of cocoa, cinnamon and pepper.
