Product description
Boondocks Spirit Company is a subsidiary of Royal Wine Corporation, a producer of alcoholic beverages whose roots date back to the early years of Baron Filip Herzog.
Boondocks whiskey is the creation of Dave Scheurich, retired manager of Woodford Reserve Distillery. Formally, Boondocks meets the definition of light whiskey – distilled from a mash of 80-90% corn (the other grains are rye and barley malt) at an ABV of over 160 and aged in refill barrels. We don’t know where this whiskey comes from, but in its debut year (2016), it won a gold medal at the International Spirit Competition in Los Angeles.
Nose: caramel, vanilla, honey, marshmallows, cherries, tobacco leaves, some leather, traces of allspice and lots of oak.
Palate : mild, caramel, vanilla, fire-roasted marshmallows, cherries, bananas, pepper, a hint of cinnamon and cloves and a light bitterness of oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, pepper and oak.
