Product description
The Wild Turkey brand was officially registered in 1942 by New York-based Austin, Nichols & Co.
As the story goes, a dozen or so months earlier, the company's president, Thomas McCarthy, served his friends bourbon from the company's stockpile (probably from JTS Brown Distillery) while hunting wild turkeys. In 1970, the company purchased Boulevard Distillery in Lawrenceburg, where this bourbon is still produced according to the recipe: 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley. Since 2009, the distillery and brand have belonged to the Italian Gruppo Campari. The Wild Turkey 101 presented here is the classic version of this bourbon bottled at 50.5% abv. The brand's annual sales reach 2 million cases.
