Kentucky Vintage Straight Bourbon / 45% / 0.7l

Kentucky Vintage is one of several bourbons from the Kentucky Bourbon Distillers portfolio.

The company is headquartered in Bardstown, where the rebuilt and newly equipped Willett Distillery resumed distilling in January 2012. The Kentucky Vintage brand debuted in the small batch series alongside Noah's Mill, Rowan's Creek and Pure Kentucky XO. The company does not disclose which Kentucky distillery (or which) the bourbon presented here comes from, although it is said that Heaven Hill Distillery has a large share. Kentucky Vintage Straight Bourbon is bottled at 45% ABV (90 proof) in small batches and is quite difficult to find outside the US.

Nose : slightly alcoholic, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cornflakes, milk chocolate, ripe plums and cherries, traces of pine needles and oak.

Taste: pleasant, lots of caramel, buttery popcorn, vanilla, toffee, dried plums, mint leaf and notes of toasted oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, cocoa powder, white pepper and toasted oak.
