Product description
The Samuels family, founders of Maker's Mark Distillery, have had close ties to horse racing in Kentucky for years.
Since 1997, the distillery has even sponsored the Maker's Mark Mile Stakes (now the Maker's 46 Mile Stakes) held at the Keenland Equestrian Track in Lexington. Each year, a limited edition is released to commemorate the event associated with the aforementioned races, with the proceeds donated to charity. The whiskey presented here, released on April 8, 2011, commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Keenland track (the grand opening was October 15, 1936) and the 15th anniversary of the Maker's Mark Mile. The label is decorated with the anniversary logo of the Keenland track, and the edition consisted of 18,000 bottles.
