Derek Bell and Andrew Webber (both from Nashville) founded Corsair Artisan Distillery in 2008. The Tennessee laws did not allow such ventures then and Bowling Green in neighboring Kentucky was chosen for location. Two years later regulations changed and the second distillery and brewery was opened in Nashville. Corsair produces various spirits including whiskey, their most popular expression so far was Triple Smoke Single Malt. The distillery owners are keen to experimenting with different formulas and Oatrage is a result of such experiment. Its mashbill includes 51% malted oats, 27% six-row malt and 22% coffee malt. It is a double distilled whiskey aged for 5 to 10 months in small, 15-gallons new charred oak barrels.
