Product description
Bulleit Bourbon Frontier Whiskey is an iconic American bourbon whiskey with a distinctive high-proof profile and a history dating back to the 19th century. The recipe was created in 1830 by Augustus Bulleit. The brand was revived in 1987 by his great-great-grandson Tom Bulleit, who adapted the recipe to modern standards, while maintaining a high rye content. It matures for 6 years in oak barrels, which gives it a deep amber color. It tastes great at 6-8°C without ice, as a base for cocktails and with desserts.
Initially, the Bulleit brand was a bourbon from the Ancient Age distillery (now Buffalo Trace); in 1997, Seagram took over and moved production to Four Roses. Since 2001, Bulleit Bourbon has been in the Diageo portfolio, and today we don't know which Kentucky distillery (or distilleries) is behind the brand. Bulleit's popularity is growing at an incredible pace, from 35,000 cases sold in 2007 to 1.2 million ten years later. In March 2017, Diageo officially opened the Bulleit Distillery in Shelbyville. It cost $15 million.
