Corsair Artisan Distillery was founded in 2008 by two Nashville residents, Derek Bell and Andrew Webber. Before distilling whiskey, they brewed beer and produced eco-friendly diesel.
Corsair has two distilleries equipped with different types of stills, in Nashville, Tennessee and Bowling Green, Kentucky. The company's offerings include whiskey, vodka, gin, rum and absinthe, and the owners are constantly experimenting with new formulas. Old Punk is the result of one of those experiments, a whiskey distilled from barley malt with pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and allspice and aged for several months in new, charred barrels and barrels previously used to mature other Corsair whiskeys.
Aroma : pumpkin pie, cinnamon, nutmeg, white pepper, cocoa, black cherries and a hint of ginger.
Taste: spicy, pumpkin pie, cinnamon, allspice, pepper, vanilla, dark chocolate, notes of anise and ginger.
Finish: spicy, an extension of the flavor palette.
