Product description
Glen Grant Distillery, based in Rothes (Speyside), has been producing whisky since 1840. Since 2006, the distillery has belonged to Gruppo Campari and, equipped with 4 pairs of stills, can distill over 6 million litres of alcohol per year.
The stills have built-in devices called purifiers, which determine the light, fruity and floral character of the distillate. Glen Grant 12 years old debuted in 2016, the same year that the plant changed the shape of the bottles and introduced a new logo and new label designs. The whisky comes mainly from bourbon barrels, with a small addition of sherry barrels, and is bottled at 43% alcohol. Glen Grant sales have recently seen a slight decline, currently (2019) it is just under 3 million bottles, which places the brand just outside the top ten. We add two tasting glasses to the bottle.
