In 2008, Glenfiddich Small Batch Reserve replaced the Ancient Reserve in the core range.
The whiskies used in this edition were aged in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks for at least 18 years. Each batch is the content of no more than 150 casks carefully selected by the company's malt master. In 2014, Glenfiddich Small Batch Reserve was renamed "Married in Small Batches", and its latest incarnation (2020) is "Glenfiddich 18 years old Our Small Batch". This whisky has won many prestigious awards and distinctions, the most recent being a gold medal awarded by the judges of the International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2019.
Nose: deep and complex, slightly floral, honey, heather, baked apples, orange peel, cinnamon and delicate notes of sherry.
Palate : rich and smooth, toffee, brown sugar, raisins, dried dates, mango and bananas, a pinch of cinnamon and light oak notes in the background.
Finish: long, with notes of summer fruits, a mixture of nuts, vanilla and a subtle bitterness of oak.
