Product description
Old Crow is a historic bourbon brand named after the inventor of the sour mash method, Dr. James Christopher Crow.
Crow came to Kentucky from Scotland in 1820 with degrees in chemistry and medicine and soon began his distilling career at the Old Oscar Pepper Distillery. In addition to using the sour mash method, Dr. Crow was a great advocate of maturing whiskey, long before the practice became the norm. Old Crow Bourbon was a favorite of President Ulysses S. Grant and was praised by men of letters Jack London and Mark Twain. It is currently produced at Jim Beam's distillery in Clermont, Kentucky, using the Jim Beam bourbon formula: 75 percent corn, 15 percent rye, and 10 percent malted barley.
