Glenlivet is one of the most recognized single malts in the world.
The distillery has been in operation since 1824. Exactly 190 years later Glenlivet became the best selling single malt with 12,768,000 bottles sold worldwide, showing impressive increase of 72% within past five years. The 18 years old expression was introduced in 1992 and remains part of the distillery core range. Roughly 15% of whisky is aged in ex-Oloroso sherry casks and then vatted with ex-bourbon and refill casks. Many believe that 18 years old expression is a “perfect Glenlivet” balancing ripe fruity notes with oaky dryness and right amount of spice.
Nose: rich and complex with hints of sherry, apple blossom, vanilla, toffee, cherries, prunes, orange peel, dark chocolate, oak and hints of cinnamon.
Palate: perfectly balanced, oranges, baked apples, crème brûlée, toffee, almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg, sherried oak and subtle herbal notes.
Finish: extremely long with interplay of sweet, dry and spicy flavors.
