- Mòine, a peated expression of Bunnahabhain whisky, was introduced in 2004.
Product description
Single malt Mòine, a smoky and peaty version of Bunnahabhain, debuted at the 2004 Islay Whisky and Music Festival.
The distillery produces around 200,000 liters of distillate per year with a similar profile, but almost all of it goes into the Black Bottle blend and Mòine is bottled extremely rarely. The 11-year-old version presented here is a proposal from The Ultimate Whisky Company from 2022. The whisky distilled on September 7, 2011, was aged in a hogshead barrel no. 704143 (American oak) and bottled at barrel strength (58.6% abv) on October 13, 2022 in an edition of 301 bottles. The Ultimate Whisky Company is a Dutch company based in Amersfoort founded in 1994 by Han and Maurice van Wees. To date, over 1,000 editions of whisky have been released under the "The Ultimate" banner.
