Product description
Bottle No. 0553
United Distillers, the previous incarnation of Diageo, introduced Rare Malts in 1995 following the success of its Classic Malts and Flora & Fauna series.
Rare Malts offered limited editions of whiskies, mostly from the group's closed distilleries. These spirits were always bottled with natural alcohol content and without cold filtration, usually in editions consisting of 6,000 bottles. Port Ellen appeared in the Rare Malts series twice, the bottle presented here is from the second edition, from October 2000, and is marked with the number 0001. In 2005, Rare Malts were bottled for the last time and the chance of their continuation is equal to zero.
