Ardbeg Uigeadail debuted in 2003 and is still part of the company's core offering.

Its name refers to the mysterious lake from which the distillery draws water for production ( uigeadail translates from Gaelic to "dark and mysterious place"). The whisky was aged in bourbon and sherry casks, and is bottled without an age statement, without chill filtration and in the cask strength version.

Nose: rich, smoky with traces of tar, well-pickled leather, as well as dried plums, caramel and almonds.

Taste: an attractive combination of peat smoke, roasted almonds, dried plums and apricots, dates and raisins.

Finish: long, peaty with distinct sherry notes.
