Kranna Dubh is the name of a mythological sea dragon that lives in the waters of Loch Indaal.
The story goes that centuries ago Kranna was brutally awakened by Fingal, Scotland's most valiant warrior, and swam to the shore of the village of Bowmore, thirsty for the intruder's blood. However, the beast did not anticipate the magical power of Fingal's sword, whose cuts drew a lot of blood from it, which colored the waters of the bay. Kranna Dubh is one of Bowmore's most captivating editions, and at the same time one of the most collectible. The whisky distilled in 1976 reached the bottling plant after 30 years and left it in 1,800 beautiful bottles bearing the image of Kranna.
Aroma: the immortal "In-a-Gadda-da-Vida" comes to mind, meaning "In the Garden of Life" full of tropical fruits and flowers, a gentle sea breeze, traces of peat smoke and oak.
Taste : tropical fruits served on the beach right after a storm, traces of iodine and peat smoke, dark chocolate, dried fruit, delicate oak bitterness.
