Product description
Distilled 1968
Bottle No: 1035 / 1860
A unique anniversary edition of Bowmore, published to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stanley P. Morrison company (later Morrison Bowmore Ltd).
In 1963, whisky broker Stanley P. Morrison purchased the Bowmore distillery from the Grigor family. The contract sum was £117,000, and for an additional £83,000 Morrison bought the Roseburn Bonding Company from the Grigors, along with the whisky stocks. The barrels for the edition presented here were personally selected by Brian Morrison, Stanley's son, and only 1,860 bottles were filled.
Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to taste this whisky, apparently it's a very unusual Bowmore, more floral and citrusy, with a minimal trace of peat smoke, and a chocolate-oak finish.
