Ileach Peated Islay Malt /40%/0.7l
- Ileach is a peated single malt whisky distilled on the island of Islay.
Product description
Ileach is a single malt whisky with a smoky and peaty profile, originating from the Isle of Islay.
The brand belongs to The Highlands & Islands Scotch Whisky Co., a subsidiary of The Vintage Malt Whisky Company, founded in 1992 by Brian Cook. Ileach is strikingly similar to another brand from the same portfolio, Finlaggan. In both cases, we know the region from which the whisky comes, but we do not know the producer, nor do we know whether the distillates bottled as Ileach and Finlaggan always come from the same source. Regardless of the numerous question marks, we believe that the Ileach presented here is one of the more attractive offers on the market considering the quality to price ratio.
Aroma: fresh, lots of smoky tones, herbal notes, a bit of hay, caramel, salty nuts and a hint of oak.
Taste: quite mild, malty, peat smoke, some salt and pepper, light fruity and oak notes.
Finish : medium long, peat smoke, iodine and a trace of caramel.
